Fiona has been involved with dogs since 1970. She has competed with her Australian Shepherds in Conformation, Obedience, Herding and Agility since 1990. Through these competitions, she has learned training techniques that promote a dog's ability to think for itself, yet still maintain a strong desire to please the owner.
Fiona is also heavily involved in dog rescue. She has pulled many homeless dogs from varioius shelters. Determined to place these dogs, she retrains them at home to better their chances of finding a loving family where they may finally become cherished family pets.
Fiona was also an Animal Health Technician at The Veterinary Emergency Clinic for 8 years. Here she gained invaluable experience in the specialized physical care and needs of family pets.
Fiona has offered socialized dog boarding at home since 1990. Her vast experience with dogs enables her to match dogs with similar temperaments and personality traits. This skill is beneficial to both the dog and the owner. Grouping dogs in this way assures a safe and fun environment for the dog and peace of mind for the owner.
Watching dogs from different families play together has been a rewarding experience for Fiona. Her passion for dogs naturally progressed to establishing Fiona's Doggie Day Care, where she soon hopes to see you and your dog.
